Penny De Los Santos is an award-winning documentary photographer known for her sensitive and evocative photo essays and food, travel, and landscape photography. Raised on the southern plains of Texas, she graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in journalism. Following a stint in New York and Dallas as a photography assistant, she worked for several small newspapers. After earning a master’s degree in visual communications from Ohio University, she was named 1998 College Photographer of the Year by the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA). De Los Santos was also a National Geographic photography intern. In 2000 she was selected for the prestigious World Press Master Class in Amsterdam. She has also been a featured speaker at industry workshops and universities worldwide. Her clients include Saveur Magazine, National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, Newsweek, Time, Latina, and Texas Monthly.
