I just wanted to wish every single person on this earth a happy holiday season!! 2007 has been a wonderful year, and we want to offer our genuine gratefulness to all of our clients, to our friends (who are very often also our clients or maybe it is our clients who very often become our friends?) and to our wonderful vendors. We’d especially like to extend our thanks to our families, who have been very patient with us as we raced/limped to the finish and finally closed our studio doors yesterday, with the significant satisfaction of filling every single order and every holiday card request by December 23rd. We even managed to rush quite a few, way past our deadlines, and deliver them on time. So pleased with that! Tamara Lackey Photography will be closed until Wednesday, January 2nd. The studio will re-open, but I will be flying down to Tampa Bay the next day, where I will be mentoring some great photographers, attending a few scheduled meetings, delivering a seminar about contemporary photography and visiting the huge, wonderful trade show, with the intention of bringing back some great product offerings to our clients in 2008. Rachel, Courtney and Kaitlin will be back to work at the studio, and Lisa will keep everything humming while I’m gone, kinda like she does all year! I don’t know one single person who doesn’t feel busy most of the time, so I hope you all enjoy a well-deserved break, and we are looking forward to a brand new 2008. Personally, I’m going to live by these wise words for the next week, while hopefully gaining some wonderful time for reflection…. “Slow down and enjoy life. It’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast – you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.” — Eddie Cantor (1892 – 1964) But, then again, you can always realign your thinkings by following Will Ferrell’s enlightened comments in ELF: “It’s just like Santa’s workshop! Except it smells like mushrooms… and everyone looks like they wanna hurt me… ” Take care 🙂 Tamara
