Nicholas Sparks has a few things on his radar right now – the new movie, “Nights in Rodanthe”, the new book, “The Lucky One” and more than a few other projects that have not been officially announced yet but sound quite cool. All worthy of great editorial coverage. We met at his house in New Bern, North Carolina. My fearless Studio Director, Lisa Walter, accompanied me on the shoot simply so we could knock out about five hours of administrative work on the trip there & back. Yes, sometimes it comes to that. But we knew we’d found the place when we saw his cars out front. The first license plate, “Storyteller”. The second “Novelist”. Yep, right house. And when their security dog sniffed us, I realized it was about my 100th dog sniffing of the year after all these political screenings. Must remember not to hug the dogs, that’s not what they are there for, must remember not to hug the dogs. A big thanks to Nicholas for the tour of the best place to photograph in New Bern, Nicholas.
