Photographing Snakes, reDefine Show: Animal Edition! With Tamara Lackey
Ever find yourself in a situation where you are photographing snakes? Me neither. Well, not normally. That said, on this newest episode of The reDefine Show (Animal Edition!), I get to photograph a boa constrictor on location at the Museum of Natural Sciences of North Carolina. We traveled there with a full studio set up, including a seamless backdrop, most of my studio lighting and some favorite gear.
During this shoot, I was able to get some surprisingly great photographs (at least, for me, when it comes to photographing snakes!) while sharing tips and techniques on how to photograph an unpredictable subject from capturing colorful contrast to macro shooting and more. Whew.
Check out the entire shoot here, live on Adorama TV:
The photographs in the video range from wide shots to macro images – and pretty much everything in between.
All images photographed with Nikon D850 and a combination of Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8 lens, Nikkor 105mm f/1.4 lens and Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 macro lens.
